I found this information on the web. I wanted to tell you about Mike the headless chicken, but I guess many other people would be doing it too.

Even the BBC news has reported this, children from a nursery have seen a three-headed frog jumping in their garden. Some find it ridiculous, calling it a multiple amplexus (I really don't know the meaning) but some call it miraculous. I mean, if I were to have three heads and six legs, that would be so creepy! What more can a frog do? It's just like stuck together twins, but it's stuck together triplets now!

I think the weirdest thing in the world is the Venus flytrap plant. I think it is weird because there are some weird questions. I was wondering why the Venus flytrap eat insects. Well, to my findings, they live in poor soil and are healthier if they get nutrients from insects. I think the Venus flytrap is clever because when you put something that is not alive, for example, a dead insect, the Venus fly trap will not close. You need to squeeze the trap and move the food around so it imitates the action of a live insect. People still do not understand fully how the trap closes. The Venus' Flytrap does not have a nervous system or any muscles or tendons.

I think it is the Condylura cristata, also known as the star-nosed mole.It is found in eastern Canada and the north-eastern United States.I think it is weird because his mouth is something like worms(which are disguisting)and the adults is 15 to 20 cm in length, weigh about 55 g, and have 44 teeth. In fact,it is a good swimmer and can forage along the bottoms of streams and ponds. It is active day and night and remains active in winter, when it has been observed tunnelling through the snow and swimming in ice-covered streams.Little is known about the social behavior of the species, but it is suspected that it is colonial.I do wish this animal will not be extinct.

From what I have learnt...to me dinosaurs are the weirdiest living things on the planet...or that have been on the planet...their extinct anyway!
What is still possible is that featured in The Straits Times was that a farm horse was crossbreeded with a zebra!!!
Sometimes, twins or triplets can be stuck together, like what grace has said - it applies to both animals and humans!
And if ghost do exist...(those "ghost mirrors atop our school)...then they would be the fourth on my list of wierdest things on the planet! You never know!
Actually, from my senses, the wierdest thing ever is (you'll never believe it) nature! Why? All wierd things on Earth are part of nature you see.
Don't get what I mean? Fell free to ask.

I think the weirdest thing on earth is the six-legged cow. It is hard to believe a cow has six legs, I thought only insects have six legs! Its name is Cham Leck which means strange, and it rests near the Cambodian city of Phnom Penh. Two of its legs are on its back!

A female polar bear named Pelusa turned purple after she was given a special treatment to clear up a skin condition.
This had attracted many people and they all came to see it at the Mendoza Zoo in Argentina. The zoo officials said that Pelusa would return to her normal cream colour in a few days time.
Ithink that Pelusa is the weirdest living-thing on earth as there is only one purple polar bear in this entire world.(I think)

Another reasearch information which I think is rather wierd.

I subscribe this science magazine called 'Ask' which a comic character on the comic page in one of last year's issue mentioned "purple pigmy hippo" when she herself is one. It mentioned that the purple pigmy hippos are a rare species of hippos but I think it sounds funny that a hippo is purple!

I want to tell you about Mike the Headless chicken....(Grace already mention it...) Yes, there is such animal which is headless and it's a - chicken! If you want to see the picture, go to www.hemmy.net. Bye! See you in Monday!!! :D
(How do a person eat, drink, breath, see and hear when there is no head. All the important things on our head are extremely useful! Without them, I wonder how Mike can survive.) Weird, huh?

I think the weirdest living thing in the planet is the angler-fish. The males bite the females to attach themselves to the female's body. The male's mouth fuse with the female's skin and both bloodstreams become connected. The female will feed the male enough nutrients to keep him alive for reproduction. Finally, the male's eyes wither and he loses them entirely, his internal organs disappear and he becomes a sperm.

Dear all,

It's really interesting to read all your short articles about the weirdest living things on the planet. I have learnt a lot through reading your articles. I hope you also share the same sentiments as me.

I found this information on the web too.I really want to tell you about a weird animal. Its a Red Panda.
The Red Panda, Ailurus fulgens ("shining cat," from a Latinized form of the Greek, ailouros, "cat," and the participial form of the Latin fulgere, "to shine") is a mostly herbivorous mammal, slightly larger than a domestic cat (55 cm long).
The Red Panda has semi-retractile claws and, like the Giant Panda, has a "false thumb" which is really an extension of the wrist bone. Thick fur on the soles of the feet offers protection from cold and hides scent glands.
The Red Panda is native to the Himalayas in Nepal and southern China. The word panda is derived from Nepalese word "ponya" which means bamboo and plants eating animals in Nepal.
Well, thats all.Hope you like the information about the red panda

I think it is Oscar, a cat without a tail. Oscar was a busy, bossy cat when he was younger. Now he’s much more mellow and into naps. He’s also bobtailed (got it caught in a door years ago). Very observant, Oscar likes to snoop, and needs to know what’s going on at all times. He also has the “zoomer gene”...our way of saying he is rather compulsive about zooming out the door.

Although he shows an interest in toys, Oscar would much rather spend his time shadowing a human. He can be quite persistent. Although he’s not exactly cuddly, he is extremely companionable.

Oscar was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2002 and takes a pill twice a day. He needs an interactive caregiver who will offer him lots of attention, yet let him do his own thing.

Although Oscar would enjoy (and be very good at) being an only cat, he has recently shown an avuncular interest in helping raise kittens.

I found this information on the web. The address is http://www.hemmy.net/2006/03/19/top-10-strangest-animals/. I think most of the students found their information from this website too.

I think the strangest animals is this pitiful kitten. Its name is Cy. It has only one eye and noseless. Although it looks kind of funny, but i find it very pitiful. It lived only for one day. This is because it was born with a medical condition called "holoprosencephaly". It is very sad because most of these animals which look wierd are mostly born with medical conditions and do not live long.

from reasearch, identical twins Shelly and Shirley called each other at the same time, made the wrong mistake(s) in a test, always wore the same clothes and drink water at the same time! Their teacher couldn't figure it out, as they sat at opposite ends of the class. They are also interested in the same subject and often sya the same thing at the same time. What could be so creepy! it is like reading each others' mind!

I had done some research and this is what I found on the BBC website. The only male on the planet which gives birth to young alive, surprisingly, is the seahorse. The female and male mate face to face which is also weird. The female will pass the eggs over to the male which he keeps in a pouch. He uses contractions to squeeze the babies out. The babies will then swim off to begin their own new lives.

I come across the picture of a Frill-Necked Lizard on the internet and find that it looks really weird. The Frill-Necked Lizard, or Frilled Lizard also known as the Frilled Dragon, is so called because of the large ruff of skin which usually lies folded back against its head and neck. When the lizard is frightened, it gapes its mouth showing a bright pink or yellow lining, and the frill flares out, displaying bright orange and red scales.

The frill of the Frill-Necked Lizard is used to frighten off potential predators - as well as hissing and lunging. If this fails to ward off the threat, the lizard flees to a nearby tree where it climbs to the top and relies on camouflage to keep it hidden.

I found all these awesome info from the web.I think the weirdest living thing on earth for me would be Mike, the headless chicken, which a lot of people mentioned about. Olsen was sent out on a routine mission to prepare the designated fryer for the pan, and a skillful blow was executed on Mike and his head was off. The next day, Mike was found still alive. The reason for that was because most of his brain stem and one ear was left on his body and since most of a chicken's reflex actions are controlled by the brain stem,Mike was able to remain quite healthy.Olsen thought that if Mike had the will to live,he would figure a way to feed and water him. With an eyedropper, Mike was given grain and water, and he lived on for 18 months. It was becoming quite obvious that Mike was special, but unfortunately,in the middle of a night, Mike began to choke. Unable to find the eyedropper to clear Mike's open esophagus,Mike passed on.He was remembered as the so-called'big fat chicken who didn't knew he didn't have a head.

Oh my... So sorry for handing it up only now, Miss Pang... As I said, my computer had something wrong. I think the weirdest living thing on the planet is the giant tortoise as it is huge and their lifespan is very long. Once, a giant tortoise from Madagascar in the 1770s did not die until 1966, when it was around 190 years old! Amazing...

I think the Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is the wierdest living thing on earth as it is the world’s most enormous living thing. The largest recorded tree is 272 feet tall. Its trunk is 35 feet in diameter and 109 feet in circumference at the base. It has been estimated to contain over 600,000 board feet of timber, enough to build 120 average-sized (that is, American sized, so half as big again as UK sized) houses.
